Brisbane’s movers and shakers joined the Board of Australia’s CEO Challenge for the Art from Your Heart art fundraiser event held on 16 October at Grant Thornton in Brisbane. All proceeds from the event went towards prevention of domestic violence. Three generations of the Bryce family were involved in the event. My sister, Revy Bryce-Browning (Managing Director of Design Vision) curated the event and her daughter Alexandra Bryce-Browning painted a picture which was sold for $600! Good on you Miss A.

Here are some images from the SEGD and UAP design collaboration workshop discussed in an earlier JBUD blog post.
Workshop participants—including architecture, landscape, arts, and environmental graphics practitioners—used the fast-paced collaborative format to generate ideas for encouraging urban exploration. Concepts ranged from improved mapping and wayfinding systems to transit media, public artworks, and even 1970s-era caravans outfitted as traveling arts and community hubs. Further info on the event at the SEGD Blog.

ICOGRADA Design Week
Unleashing the potential of collaboration in a fast-paced workshop setting, 15 Brisbane designers from environmental graphics, architecture, landscape architecture, art and design backgrounds attended the joint UAP and SEGD design collaboration workshop on 12 October 2010.
The event was held at UAP’s Northgate design and production studios and explored new ways that residents and short stay visitors might explore beyond Brisbane’s CBD. The workshop will be documented and outcomes presented by UAP’s Jodie Cox as part of Icograda Design Week on Thursday 14 October. Event photos will be on the SEGD Blog sometime soon.
Many thanks to the UAP team: Carmel Haugh, Scott Miller, Jodie Cox and Esther Cole who created a great brief for the event, hosted the designers and facilitated the workshop.

The Unlimited Design conference has been launched, workshopped and completed. There were some great workshops including the Platform: Mobility Workshop and the Smart Cities urban design masterclass with CJ Lim from Studio 8 Architects and UCL.
